Cast & Crew

CineLog’s Cast and Crew feature is designed to manage team collaboration securely. Organize your roster using strict industry-standard hierarchies and dynamically control who has access to your sensitive project data.

Industry Standard Hierarchy

Organizes all members into a rigid, 3-level structure (Group → Department → Role) reflecting massive studio productions.

Intelligent Role Planning

Start delegating unassigned Vacant Slots during pre-production without needing to know exactly who you’re hiring yet.

Role-Based Access Control

Share your vision securely. Control what each role is allowed to access across your project, ensuring the right people see the right information.

Dual Perspectives

Quickly sort your network via the visual department Kanban board, or cycle through your global unified Contacts rolodex list.

  1. Planning Your Crew (Vacant Slots)

You don’t need a single contact in your rolodex to begin staffing. Add standard industry roles (e.g. “Key Grip”) to create a Vacant Slot. Once you hire someone, simply assign an existing or newly-invited contact to the slot. All departmental defaults will follow the contact intelligently.

  2. Dual Views of Contacts

Working on a phone or a large monitor? Pick your view. The Cast and Crew View gives you a Kanban-style board representing department slots (e.g., Camera -> Grip -> Key Grip). The Contacts View acts as a flat, simple rolodex of your contacts natively scoped across your entire workspace.

  3. Granular Project Access & Invitations

Adding someone to your Cast and Crew does not automatically give them full read permissions. Use the Intent Toggle to securely route someone an email invitation bridging their CineLog account to your project. When adjusting permissions, CineLog intelligently resolves individual overrides against departmental defaults so you can confidently upgrade an individual’s scope.
